Restaurant : - North Zealand is home to no less than three beautiful royal castles, each with their own exciting history. Kronborg Castle in Elsinore, where you will find Holger Danske in the basement and which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød with its historical museum and beautiful location by the lakes. Finally, Dronningens Fredensborg with lots of contemporary history from the Royal Family is beautifully located in a huge park down towards Esrum lake.
The coast along North Zealand is sometimes referred to as the Danish Riviera. And there's something about the talk.
Here you will find Copenhageners' favorite summer towns such as Tisvildeleje and Hornbæk with a café life as in the South of France. You will also find small fishing villages like Gilleleje with lots of life around the busy harbor. All the way on the North Zealand coast stretches delicious sandy beaches and cliffs. You will easily find good and child-friendly beaches and large holiday home areas with lots of life in the summer.
In North Zealand, art and cultural experiences await - as on the French Riviera. Louisiana's museum of international modern art is enchantingly down to the Sound. A little from there you can visit the Karen Blixen Museum at Rungstedlund which offers an insight into Karen Blixen's fantastic history and beautiful walks in Rungstedlund's park. If you want to experience a small, but very exclusive collection of art, then make your way past the Nivaagaard collection. Throughout North Zealand, in addition to these three beautiful museums, you will find many local museums that tell the story of North Zealand.
If you want to go out into nature, then the beautiful beaches are right in front. But do not deceive yourself for a walk in some of North Zealand's many forests such as Gribskov and Dyrehaven. Here you will find not only tranquility, but also a rich wildlife that can often be seen up close. Experience e.g. the crowned animals in Dyrehaven.
And then Copenhagen is not far away - with Tivoli, Strøget, the little mermaid, Amalienborg, the Opera and lots of other experiences.
North Zealand has a lot to offer, whether you are into nature, art and culture, history or something completely different.
Book a cottage for a week or two and experience it all.
